MEGAWORLD
Corporation noted the interest of Mindanao businesses in their
72-hectare new township development in Iloilo that is fast shaping up.
“We have been receiving a lot of inquiries from Davao and Cebu but
majority are still locals,” said Harold Brian Geronimo, Megaworld's head
for public relations and communications.
As it is, the commercial lots at the Iloilo Business Park are almost 80 percent sold out, he said.
Among the first that are constructing their buildings there are the
Metrobank, which will be putting up its regional office there, and other
companies of business tycoon George Ty, said Denisse C. Malong, Iloilo
Business Park senior leasing manager.
Geronimo said that the P35-billion development project that already
has Richmonde Hotel and the Iloilo Convention Center operating, a
Marriot Courtyard Hotel on the final stages of construction, several
luxury residential condominiums already in various stages of
construction, state-of-the-art BPO office towers, a lifestyle mall, a
1.1 kilometer Festive Walk, commercial and retail strips, open parks,
and transport hubs is being built in phases to ensure that locators
already have the market.
“We support out tenants in such a way that we are able to bring in
the customers for them,” he said. Even before we constructed the
component, we already have the BPOs and the hotels,” he added.
The mall is expected to open by September 2016. It will have three
levels, the first and second levels of which will house local and
international retail concepts. It will also have seven cinemas. The
department store and grocery will be anchored by Metro Gaisano.
